Pastor Tim McPherson has been pastor at Champion Church of the Nazarene since January, 2003. He and his lovely wife, Nancy, have been very happily married for 20 years and have been blessed with two boys, Matthew and Michael, both of whom love the Lord.

The Lord Jesus Christ saved Pastor Tim and called him into pastoral ministry at an early age. Pastor McPherson thanks God for the support he received from a Christian family heritage in the holiness tradition. 

Pastor Tim loves leading people to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and discipling new believers. His heart’s desire is to love God and to love people, to study and teach the Holy Scriptures, and to be genuine in ministry.

God has used Pastor Tim to lead our church in community-focused outreach efforts. Pastor Tim believes in a purpose-defined, spirit-led leadership team. He seeks to use his faith and administrative skills to help our leaders create a positive, prayerfully-envisioned future.

Pastor Tim enjoys worshipping God through music. He likes to stay caught up on current technology and endeavors to use it to advance the Kingdom. He also enjoys motorcycling and uses this interest to build relationship bridges with others for God's purposes.

In preparation for ministry, Pastor McPherson sought a well-rounded education and received undergraduate and graduate training from a total of 8 educational institutions, representing Wesleyan-Arminian, Calvinistic, and secular perspectives. Pastor Tim holds a BA degree in Christian Ministries from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Masters degree in Christian Ministries from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

An ordained minister since 1989, Rev. McPherson has pastored both Wesleyan and Nazarene congregations. He is involved on the East Ohio district as district secretary, credentials board secretary and advisory board member.
