Crisis Care Kits & School Pal-Paks: This Sunday, Sept. 7, is the last day to turn in your packages of items for the crisis care kits and school pal-paks! The packs must be boxed up and sent out this week. Thank you for the great participation that you gave to help with missions around the world! 

Centennial Planning Meeting: The Church of the Nazarene will be celebrating 100 years of ministry on Sunday, October 5 with a huge celebration around the world. Our church will be a part of this denominational celebration! A second planning meeting will be held Sunday, September 7 at 5:00p in the Prayer Chapel for anyone interested in helping with the plans for this day. 

Church Directory Photos: We would like to put together a new church directory soon and your help is needed to make it a success! Please take a moment after the morning service and have your picture and/or family picture taken by Stephanie Young in the foyer (next to the drinking fountain). Everyone is asked to participate! 

Sermons On Line: Did you happen to miss a Sunday morning service due to vacation or illness? Log on to www.championnazarene.org and click on the Sermons button on the right side of the home page to hear our service. 

55 & Alive Group: The next 55 & Alive covered dish dinner will be held this Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00p in the CLC. Your hostesses will be Charlotte Clendenin and Vonda Douglas. Please bring a dish or two to share and a friend. 

Membership Class: The next membership class will be held next Sunday, September 14 from 12:30-3:00p in the Prayer Chapel. A meal will be provided for those who are attending the class.   

Church T-shirts: Did you have the opportunity to order an orange Champion Church of the Nazarene t-shirt in June? Did you want to get one for a family member or friend? Do you want one to wear on Centennial Sunday, October 5? If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, then be sure to sign up for your shirt in the vestibule today! The price is $10 per shirt. The deadline to order the shirts in next Sunday, Sept. 14.


Soul SK8 Social: Friday nights from 7:00-9:00p our church hosts Soul SK8 Night in the CLC. Music, skating area, board games, snacks, Christian atmosphere, scripture games and much, much more will be provided free of charge to all ages. An adult must accompany children under 5. Bring your skates and plan on having a fun time!  See Dawn Westfall for more information.  

Father/Son Campout: The annual Father/Son Campout at Stony Glen Camp will be Friday & Saturday, September 12 & 13. Registration is Friday from 6:00-8:00p and the weekend will conclude at 4:00p Saturday. Cost is $23 per person (second son is $15). Fathers can include any man willing to be a father figure in a boy’s life. Comfortable cabins are provided along with Friday night snacks and Saturday breakfast and lunch. Bring your own bedding. Competition includes Frisbee-golf, riflery, and archery. Father/Son scores will be added together and awards will be given for each class. Classes are: Sons age 8-9, Sons age 10-11, and Sons age 12-18. Sons ages 6-7 are welcome to compete. Free-time activities include scenic hikes, fishing and hayrides. Bring your own fishing tackle. Reservations must be made by Sept. 6 by calling Mike Sams at 330-856-9353. Stony Glen Camp is located at 5300 W. Loveland Rd., Madison, OH 44057.

Rotary Club Amish Dinner: The Champion Rotary will host a delicious all you can eat buffet style Amish chicken and roast beef dinner on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 4:30-6:30p at the Champion Presbyterian Church. Adult tickets are $12, children 6-12 years $6, and children 5 and under are free. See Pastor Tim or Nancy McPherson to purchase your ticket for this wonderful dinner!   

Alabaster Offering: Our next Alabaster offering will be received on Sunday, Sept. 21 during our morning worship service. Alabaster boxes are available on the table outside the sanctuary doors. 

Caravan Camp Out: The District will host a Caravan Camp Out on Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27 at Canaan Acres Camp. The evening begins Friday at 6:00p and concludes Saturday at 4:30p. The cost is $3 per camper. Please see Kathy Danko for more information.


Run for Grace & Andy: A benefit run in memory of Grace Chamberlain and Andy Hopkins will be held Saturday, Sept. 27 at Hiram College. Registration begins at 7:00a, and the run and walk begin at 8:30a. Registration forms are available in the foyer. Cost is $15 if pre-registered. All proceeds will benefit Hiram College scholarships in memory of Grace and Andy who were first year students at Hiram and were killed by a drunken driver in 2006.

Holiness Today Subscription: Holiness Today is the primary magazine for the Church of the Nazarene to English-speaking readers around the world. This magazine helps people to discover tools for everyday faith, understand the message of holiness in practical ways, and for acquiring a sense of connection to the Church. This bi-monthly magazine is only $12.00. See Nancy McPherson to subscribe. All subscription requests should be submitted by Sept. 30. 

Laymen’s Fall Breakaway: Time is running out to sign up for the annual Laymen’s Fall Breakaway that will be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 2 at the Atwood Lake Resort & Conference Center in Sherrodsville, OH. Guest speaker will be Dr. Edward Estep and featured singers will be Greg & Geri Rosser. Late registration (Aug. 18 – Sept. 10) is $375 for double occupancy and $285 for single occupancy. Registration forms are available in the foyer. 

Warren Family Mission: Your contributions of canned tuna, chili, stews and vegetables are all needed this month. The Mission is also beginning now to collect new and unwrapped toys to distribute to children less fortunate in our community at Christmas. If you would like to donate, please place your toy in the cart in the CLC. Thank you. 

Lost and Found: Several clothing items, decorative items, and kitchen supplies have been left behind since early summer. Please check the Lost and Found box and also the shelf above the coat rack in the CLC to claim your items. Unclaimed items will be donated to charity at the end of September. Thank You.
