Opportunity for Study: A love offering was taken for Matt McPherson who shared about an upcoming opportunity he has to study in Brazil for a semester with MVNU students. This is part of his education towards his degree in Missions. This offering will help him in funding his airfare ($1300) and books, which are over and above his cost of tuition. Thank you for your generous giving! $416 has come in!   

Champion Freedom Riders: Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts! We will be leaving from the church on Sunday, September 5 and 19 at 12:30p for lunch at a restaurant and then go for a nice ride until around 5:00p. 

3^rd Annual Motorcycle Prayer Run: This event is to benefit the Ohio Valley Teen Challenge Crisis and Referral Center of Trumbull County. The date is this Saturday, Sept. 11 with registration from 8:00-9:00a at the Grace Fellowship Church (Kohl’s/Kmart Plaza). The cost is on a donation basis. Don’t have a bike? Come in a car! Lunch following the ride. Fellowship, t-shirts, Chinese auction.

Church Fuel Update:  We would like to thank all of you for working with us in our efforts to bring our heating costs down this year. Praise the Lord we are making great strides! Please look at our savings figures that Jack Besse has provided for our October through June usage.

Fall Fest at Canaan Acres: Canaan Acres is hosting a Fall Fest on Saturday, Sept. 25. Planned activities include a classic car show, antique tractors, apple butter canning, hayrides and more. Volunteers are needed to peel and cut apples on Friday, Sept. 24. 10 dz. new pint-canning jars with lids are needed for the apple butter. Please contact the camp office to volunteer your time or to donate jars. (330) 875-1660.

East Central Region Work & Witness Conference: September 24-25 is the East Central region Work & witness Conference to be held at Shepherd Church of the Nazarene is Gahanna, OH. Registration fee is $60 per person if registered before Sept. 1 or $65 if you register after this date. The fee includes all sessions, Friday dinner and Saturday brunch. Guest speaker is Greg Taylor the Regional Administrator for Work & Witness in the Asia/pacific Region. To register go to www.wwmvnu.org 

Alabaster Offering: The next Alabaster offering will be received Sunday morning, September 26. This offering helps you to build mission centers around the world. There are thousands who have yet to hear about Jesus. Won’t you give? Boxes are available on the table in the foyer. 

Hiram Memorial Run/Walk: Saturday, October 9, is the date of the annual 5K run and 1 Mile Fun Walk for Grace and Andy. The event, sponsored by Hiram College, celebrates the lives of Grace Chamberlain and Andy Hopkins of Champion, two first year students who were killed in March 2006 when their car was struck by the vehicle of a drunken driver who had 11 previous DUI convictions. Since that time family and friends of Grace and Andy, along with the Hiram College community, have chosen to celebrate the students’ lives through advocacy for tougher drunken driving laws and increased education of the dangers of drinking and driving. Event registration begins at 8:30a with the run and walk starting at 10:00a. All participants receive a commemorative bag, refreshments, and are entered in a drawing for various prizes. Warren Zone Revival: Save the dates! The Warren Zone will be having its Fall Revival November 7-10 with speaker Rev. Mike Adams. The services will be held at the Warren First Church of the Nazarene, 4179 Parkman Rd. N.W., Warren. Service times will be 6:00p on Sunday evening and 6:30p Monday – Wednesday. Nursery will be provided. 

East Ohio NYI Fall Retreat: This annual event hosted by the East Ohio District Youth Council will be November 12-14 at FFA Camp Muskinghum in Carrollton, OH. The cost is $85 per student and additional $10 if you sign up to play paintball. The speaker will be Dave Kohout and music by Willet. This event is open to grades 7-12. Start saving now for this great event!
